There are many support groups nationwide and a variety of curricula to tailor to your needs. Begin now to prepare and plan. Don’t wait till the task of undoing the secular influences becomes impossible. You can do it; you need not feel alone. God will help you protect your children from the increasing evils of the world.

Stress Tip of the Month: Look to God and Live

Bible Study: Much of the distress we are suffering as a nation and a people is because our nation has turned away from God. You may remember the story in the Bible when the children of Israel were bitten by poisonous snakes in the wilderness. God told Moses to fashion a serpent out of brass and place it on a pole. The people were healed when they obeyed the word of God and looked upon this brazen serpent. Centuries later, Saint John told the people that this brazen serpent was a symbol or type of Jesus Christ and His healing power. We, too, can be healed and improve our lives when we look to God in all things.

Defining Moments

“Defining Moments” is a monthly feature. Kind of a fancy name for a glossary. When I was growing up, we had a huge dictionary on a tall, narrow, rolling table. Whenever we asked the meaning of a word, we were told to “look it up.” We still do that. You’d be surprised at some of the interesting things you find in the dictionary, especially the 1828 American Dictionary. Now, with all the twists and spins that politicians and the media do to common words, it’s valuable to go back to the original meaning. It can make for interesting conversation, too.

This month the Defining Moment is Censorship. Political correctness is behind much of the censorship today. When people seek to ban pornography, or when parents restrict their children’s TV viewing, reading, or music for their children’s spiritual safety, this is not censorship. Censorship can only be imposed by governments or political groups. Bloggers, including myself, are finding that when we post the truth about Biblical values and religious freedom, Google threatens to kick us off of its platform because of political correctness. Political correctness is behind truth blackouts in the mainstream media, and now even sometimes in the social media. Political correctness seeks to silence anyone who opposes their point of view.

1. New Priority: Be on guard against indoctrination in the schools. It’s hard to control national and even state politics. However, we can still do what is best for our children. It is going to become increasingly difficult to counteract the insidious influences pervading our society. Indoctrination is becoming increasingly blatant. If it is not possible for you to home school, try to teach your children Judeo-Christian values at home. The easiest way to do this is to tell stories and discuss principles at the family dinner table. I hope these dinner topics help you with this vital effort. Just don’t give up! Our precious children are worth fighting for.

2. Study the U.S. Constitution! It is the last remaining safeguard of our precious freedoms!

3. The Supreme Court did rule that the states cannot be forced to implement Obamacare on a state level

Please continue to pursue nullification bills, for your own good. I will also post action alerts from time to time. I am pleased to see Faith and Freedom Coalition spearheading this process. I will be posting more information on this. Remember this is not about us—it’s about our children and grandchildren.

With all the taxation without representation, and other threats to the Constitution, a very hot topic is “Nullification Bills.” This gives the states the option of nullifying bills which are not constitutional. If states are fiscally solvent, why should they bankrupt themselves with the onerous regulations of Obamacare?

Another continuing threat is to our 2nd amendment. Now, I am not a zealous hunter or gun owner. But I am concerned about the safety of myself and my family on two counts:

1. I don’t want to be a victim of crime.

2. I don’t want my liberties taken away from me.

So this is another application for Nullification Bills. I will be posting a sample letter that you can use to send to your own state governments, to urge them to do the job you elected them to do: abide by the Constitution and protect your states’ rights.
